Background
Eliza Sopubekova obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Master’s degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey. During her studies, she worked on controlled patterning of nanoparticles to obtain multifunctional surfaces as well as fabrication of microfluidic platforms for biomedical applications.
She joined STORM-BOTS programme in August 2021 as ESR1. Eliza works with the Stimuli-responsive Functional Materials research group and is pursuing her PhD in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. Her research focuses on the development of liquid crystal elastomers with tunable dielectric properties for next generation small-scale antennae applications.
Research interests
Liquid crystal elastomers, soft robotics, device fabrication.
